Energy Efficiency

Small businesses have several options to improve their energy efficiency. Some of the most prevalent methods include using Energy Star products that are labeled as being more energy efficient than other appliances. Water heaters, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc. can all be found in energy efficient versions.
Not only does energy efficiency help preserve resources, but it reduces costs for small businesses.

There is currently an initiative in place to allow buildings to produce the same amount of energy that they use. This is the Net-Zero Energy Commercial Building Initiative.

What is the difference between energy efficiency and renewable energy?

Energy efficiency refers to getting more energy from the resources you're using and limiting that use of energy to accomplish your business objectives. Renewable energy refers to sources of energy (electricity, fuel) that can be replaced (solar, wind, water, etc.)
